| Here’s some information about the ‘Open Door’ Christian bookshop to encourage your interest, prayers and support. Following the closure of the Upper Room bookshop in Letterkenny the need existed for the opening of a similar type shop which would make available resources honouring to the Lord and His Word. After the opening of a ‘pilot bookroom’ in October 2001, renovation work took place which released the downstairs premises at 73, Port Road for exclusive use as a bookshop. | |

The
shop is now open Tuesday to Saturday 10am - 5pm and closed for lunch
from 1.00 to 1.30. ‘Open Door’ is being managed by Bobby Hay and has the full support of the members of Letterkenny Baptist Church. It is not a ‘Baptist bookshop’ rather the aim is to serve the wider Christian family of Letterkenny, County Donegal and beyond and help the individual, from whatever background and with whatever need, to discover the richness of God's love in the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| This is a 'servant' ministry through which it is hoped all who love the Lord and all fellowships and churches in the area that are seeking to advance His Kingdom, will be helped and encouraged. At present stock is increasing and the intention is to provide a wide selection of Bibles, books (new and used), cards, stationary, CD’s, tapes, software, gift vouchers etc. which will be of help in Christian ministry. If you are involved in Christian ministry you might like to consider placing orders for Daily reading notes, Study literature, Sunday School materials, and other resources which will be of help in your work. Discount is being arranged for supplies to churches and Christian groups. It is also possible to provide publicity, through the shop, of information about church services and other Christian events being arranged. Where items required are not immediately available an ordering service is in operation. | |

| While
it is the intention to develop a professionally
run shop the aim is not to be a profit-making concern. Whatever credit may
arise will be channeled back into the overall facility to improve the
service, provide materials at a realistic and affordable price and develop
the effectiveness of this resource for the glory of God.
A current feature is the re-cycling of previously used books. While second hand books are not being purchased by the shop, donations of such books are being recycled at a nominal price or are being forwarded to Book Aid – a Christian charity which redistributes used Christian literature. A further feature is the availability of Tear Craft products provided by Ann McMahon, a local tear craft representative. Do call in and see the shop or contact Bobby Hay at 074 9122789 or send an e-mail to opendoorbookshop@eircom.net for further information.
