' When two agree ' 

MATTHEW 18:20

20 For where two or three come together in my name,
there am I with them."

The familiar promise of Jesus is more than an 'excuse' for small prayer meetings!

In Matthew 18 the significance of one is stressed leading to the dynamic of two preparing for the presence of three.

The individual be he or she a little child v2 (ever so insignificant in an adult world 2-4 and vulnerable in a hostile world 6,7 but of essential worth in the spiritual world  8-10) is of immense value to God 11-14.

The value of the individual is stressed in our concern to restore and forgive such - by private and confidential agreement. 15

The dynamic of two

The winning of one ....the saving of one v15

Two (or three) are essential for accuracy, this agreement of two deals with error, misunderstanding, gives an authority 16

To restore, to report, to require, to release

So in petition, proclamation, presentation......the emphasis on accord, integrity and agreement in the truth.

Such 'commands' the Lord's very presence.

It is there that the Lord commands blessing.....but where we are self focused and the other is dismissed...then v34
